I love you in Persian: دوستت دارم

دوستت دارم — Dooset daram means “I love you” in Persian, also called Farsi. It is an everyday expression that can be used with a partner and with other people you love.

Copy دوستت دارم for a message in Persian script. Dooset daram is a reading aid in Latin letters; it is not the Persian spelling itself.

Dooset daram or Doostet daram?

You may encounter both doostet dāram and the conversational dooset dāram. The shorter spoken form drops the t sound from doost before the ending. The card uses Dooset daram to reflect that conversational reading.

These are not two different levels of love. Differences such as oo, u, or ū can also come from the writer’s transliteration system. Compare the Persian text and context instead of treating every Latin spelling as a separate phrase.

For pronunciation, oo represents a long u sound. The ā in dāram is a long vowel, roughly like the a in “car.” Plain daram on the card leaves out that transliteration mark; use the audio to practise the spoken phrase.

A more explicitly romantic expression

عاشقتم — Asheghetam is often translated as “I am in love with you.” It is an intense expression, frequently romantic, while دوستت دارم is an everyday way to express love. Asheghetam can also occur in very affectionate family or friendship contexts; it is not restricted to couples.

For a simple affectionate message, start with دوستت دارم. Choose عاشقتم when “I am in love with you” is what you want to say. It is a different expression, not a more formal spelling of dooset daram.

How to say I love you too

من هم دوستت دارم — Man ham dooset dāram means “I love you too.” Here ham adds “too” or “also.” Use the complete reply when you want to return the same sentiment.

Copying the Persian writing

Persian is written from right to left. Copy دوستت دارم in its displayed order and let your messaging app handle the text direction; do not reverse the letters manually.

The Latin reading aid runs from left to right. Having both on the page lets you choose between sending the Persian script and practising how to say it.
